Thelma Porch Plays Bass And Is Lead Vocals In The Weekenders BandThelma Porch

Thelma Porch got her first guitar at age eleven and by the time she was twelve she had joined a band with some high school friends playing top 40 music from the 50's and 60's.

By her twenties she was playing in country bars, one once owned by Sally Starr, and was working with bands from Nashville opening for such country artists as, Eddy Arnold, Conway Twitty, Sonny James and Marty Stuart, she even worked with Bill Haley while he was touring in the tri county area. For the past thirty years she has played in clubs all over South Jersey and for the past two years has been the bass player and lead singer for The Weekenders Band.

John Campbell Plays Lead Guitar and vocals for the weekenders band John Campbell

John Campbell started playing the guitar when he was sixteen. He has also been in several different bands through out the years, including Cool Coupe Blue and October Sun.

John's lead guitar playing and vocals are an important part of the bands sound and playing with close friends, they have put together a band, playing the music that they all grew up with and LOVE. John Plays Fender Guitars



George Wolcott is the drummer for the weekenders bandGeorge Wolcott

George Wolcott started playing the drums and was in a band while he was in high school. After high school, family and work took up much of his time, so he stopped playing for awhile, then about twenty years ago, he went and bought a set of drums and started playing again.

He played a short time with a classic rock band called October Sun and then for fourteen years played with a local country band, The Country Majestics.

Two years ago George with his close friends started The Weekenders Band, doing Classic Rock and oldies, and he also still fills in with other bands when they need a drummer for the night.

Mike Roman Plays Keyboards In The Weekenders BandMike Roman

Mike Roman started playing the piano when he was seventeen and over the years has played with numerous Blues and Classic Rocks bands including Friendly Fire and October Sun.

Blues is in his blood, but he does enjoy playing classic rock and oldies.

Mike being the youngest member in the band, most of the song selections are older than he is.

Mike's keyboard playing is a big part of the sound of The Weekenders band and his great playing style adds "The magic touch".


Frankie J On The Saxophone With The Weekenders BandFrankie J

Frankie J has played tenor sax for numerous bands through the years. He started with a band from South Amboy called Roger Johnson and the Hub Caps.

For over five years he was the back up sax player for The Duprees and for two years was the lead sax player for The Viscounts. Other bands he has played with through the years are The Blue Nights, East Side Harmony, the Jimmy C trio and Special Touch.

He has since moved to South Jersey and for the past two years has been a member of The Weekenders Band, playing the music he loves.
